3d printing is an additive manufacturing, so it has its terms and own technical language. What layer heights to use, speed, material to choose, etc? It depends on your machine parameters. After getting familiar with machine parameters I describe you the general 3d printing process to give a good overall view on the steps you normally have to go through before you hold a physical product in your hand (more detailed than the How to start class). I teach you the difference between file formats we generally use for 3d printing. jpg,svg,step,stl,obj EXTRA: I teach you to use a free software to make your own vector file from an image you download from the public domain (from the web). -> Next course I teach you how to make an STL (3d printable) file from this vector file. (Commands like sketch, modifying a sketch, extrude, revolve...) And all basic questions are welcome. I offer other courses where we dig deeper and deeper. What will you learn during this course/lecture? - Inkscape free software to make svg vector files from designs downloaded from the web. These SVG files can be used for many things, one thing is to insert it into another software that supports it for further 3d design, like Fusion360. - Short overview of many the ways how you can get STL files to print other than design for yourself. - Fundamentals of 3d design. It is called CAD/CAM design, but in our case this is a simplified version but completely perfect for 3d design. - Take a closer look at 2 different slicer programs, CURA and SLIC3R and the default settings of them. This includes explanation of general settings that we will fine tune in the next class. What this course/lecture won't give you? - Making 3D designs that includes combination of features like, extrude, revolve, etc. (next class) - Any fine tuning of slicer application, understanding of fine tuning in general (next class) Class is 1hour 45 minutes long. IMPORTANT: package deal is available in case you want to go through the whole training process during a 1-on-1, without others. Having that option you will have more time and I focus solely on you and your questions, problems. Please contact me in private.
